Family Fun Day at Splash Station - 7/23/07
On Monday, (Daddy's day off) we went back to Splash Station, (our local pool and water park) to show Daddy how much fun Adley has in the water.

Swimming & kicking with Daddy.

Taking a break from splashing with Mommy.
When we were all done in the pool we went for a ride on the Lazy River. Mommy & Adley rode in one inner tube and Daddy rode in another to keep us going in the right direction (Mommy's hands were full). We had so much fun we went around twice!

New Packpack
A Day at Navy Pier - First Boat Ride
"My windblown hair look."
"Grandma kept me safe from that scary boat horn."
"Isn't Chicago beautiful today?"
Next we walked down the pier on our way to lunch.
Grandma and Mommy wanted to try out the mirrors that make you look taller.
Then we had lunch in a cafe. After lunch we strolled through the Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows. It was a beautiful collection.
After the museum we walked all the way to the end of the pier and watched the boats for awhile.
(Well some of us watched the boats).
Then we walked all the way to the other end to a park at the entrance of the pier. The landscaping was very colorful and we even got the ferris wheel in the backdrop of this family photo.
Mommy never gets to be in any pictures. So, Daddy took this shot.
Couldn't get any smiles, though.
After pictures we paused for another kind of lunch. (Pears, I think).
"How many people in this picture have their mouths open?"
"Yum!"
"Big bite!"
(Daddy likes the close-up feature on the camera).
Navy Pier was fun. We had the perfect weather for the middle of July. We saw lots of bridal parties, and families, and people just having fun. Can you believe this was the first time we had ventured into the city for some sightseeing?
Afterwards, we dropped Grammy at her hotel so she could attend her conference.
"Bye Grammy! Thanks for coming!"
A Walk in the Park
The last night that Grammy was in town we took a walk in Settlers Park in Plainfield.
It was a beautiful night, just before sunset. Adley had her blanket to keep from getting chilly but she really enjoyed the fresh air.
We found a bouncy toy on the playground that Adley enjoyed at the last Mom's group outing. So we showed Grandma how much fun it is to bounce!
Daddy liked the slide better.
And Grandma wanted to swing.
How much fun can one little girl have before bedtime?
(Adley was awake for several more hours - so much for all that fresh air tiring her out!)
Bumper Jumper
Grammy Judy bought Adley a present - a Bumper Jumper.
Adley loves to kick, on the floor and in the water. This was her first opportunity to JUMP! It took her about 5 seconds to figure out how much fun this could be. She began jumping and twirling right away.
Look at her go!
"Jumping is fun - but Grandma's attention is even better."
"Are you still watching me?"
"What a ride!"

Grammy Visits!
This past Tuesday Grammy Judy came to visit from Sacramento. Adley had a great week. So did Mommy. It was fun to share Adley with Grandma. We went clothes shopping for Mom the first day (which is hard to do unless you have at least two adults).
Then Grammy took Adley bow shopping.
Which one do you like best?
Of course, we found a few other things too.
There are some adorable little blue jeans that will be featured in future posts!
Adley's favorite part of the visit was cuddling with Grandma before bedtime.
Another new outfit to show Grammy.
We went to a store called the Chalkboard.
They had great toys and even a play area.
We'll definitely go back there again.
THANK YOU GRAMMY!
