First Tooth

I can't tell you that this was one of our happier photo shoots, but if you look really closely, you can almost see the first tooth!

Better now. Look at that smile!

( She thought Mommy was going to leave her there in the crib).

But its ok as long as Mommy sticks around.

"You are sticking around, right Mom?"

"Check out this great outfit Grandma Mary bought for me when I was first born. Can you believe I can still wear it?"

First Christmas Tree

"Last night while I was sleeping, somebody put a tree in my house?"

"Did you know about this?"

"Oh, it has such pretty lights!"

"The camera is awfully pretty too!"

Let the holidays begin!

Adley has been in awe of the Christmas tree, but so far she doesn't like touching it too much because its prickly. Aishah has figured out that she is safer from Adley when she's under the tree so that's where she's been spending most of her time.

The tree has put us all in the Christmas mood already even if we did have it up before Thanksgiving. We are thankful the upcoming Advent & Christmas seasons and that we will be able to celebrate Adley's first Christmas together!

First Christmas Present

On Tuesday, Adley received her first Christmas present in the mail from Grandma Judy. (Ok, Mommy asked that it be sent early because we were running out of pajamas in Adley's size).

The package was beautiful. Once Adley saw it, she went straight for the fuzzy yarn bow. Of course, Aishah had already seen the bow and had dibs.

Mommy & Daddy had to help with the tape and some of the paper. Adley was intrigued to say the least.

Once the package was opened, however, the novelty seemed to wear off.

Although she did enjoy playing with the hangars that came with her new dress and outfits.

"What is it?"

"I really do like it Grammy. I'm just too busy playing right now to try it on!"

Uncle Peter

On Monday we ventured to downtown Chicago to see Uncle Peter who was passing through on his way home. We met Uncle Peter at Union Station. Then Daddy and Uncle Peter rode to the top of Sears Tower (all 110 stories of it)! It was a cloudy day, so there aren't many pictures from the top but we did get this shot of niece and uncle enjoying each other's company.

Thanks for visiting!

Making Friends

This weekend we had the opportunity to stay with friends for the weekend. Emily and Adley had some time to get reacquainted since they spent three whole days together. This was a lot of fun for Adley but was even more crucial for Emily who is going to be a big sister very soon!

The girls played together well despite the fact that Emily can run circles around Adley (for now). They especially enjoyed playing in the boat together (a.k.a. the inflatable bathtub).

Pictures to come later.

On Sunday, during the service, both girls played in the nursery. The nursery attendants told Mommy that Adley was very good. She kept trying to reach the other kids and give them hugs. Apparently, we need to find Adley some more friends!

Another First

This morning Adley surprised us by standing up in her crib all by herself.
Wow!

It's Official

Last night we had a quiet night in, playing with toys in the living room and watching a movie when...ADLEY BEGAN TO CRAWL.

She's exhibited signs before. Even made some moves in that direction. But last night she really took off. She went after Aishah. Then, mom and dad made every effort to get her to crawl again. Of course, she just sat right there and watched us making fools of ourselves. That is, until she spied the remote control! Now, nothing is safe.

A new era has begun!

Watch for fun pictures!

Happy Halloween!

Anyone who knows me (AKA Adley's mom) knows that halloween is the ORANGE holiday! Therefore, we couldn't pass up this tigger costume for Adley's first October. To be honest, I expect Adley will wear this nice and cozy warm footsie several more days this fall. At least until she becomes too long for it.

"Thanks for the cool bear, mom!"

"No more hood, okay mom?"

The tiger gets the cat!

While we were waiting for Trick-or-Treaters, Adley played with toys.

All of them!
