Spring Weather

Simeon loves his Cozy Coupe.  He loves to steer and he especially enjoys being able to keep up with the girls on their bikes when he is pushed along at the same speed.  That always brings a smile.

Our new little biker.  She just learned how to keep pedaling, stop the bike, navigate bumps, and steer last week!  Now she's a champ.

"The girls gave me a pool noodle!"

Hi Mommy!

Ender & Simeon

An aerial view of the Otterman family.

Ender and Simeon.
Ender was so quiet the whole weekend that we weren't sure if Simeon even knew there was a baby in Auntie Anna's lap.

There's the baby!
Bye-bye cousin.  See you next time.

Baptism of Ender Alan

Our first family event of the weekend, the Thursday evening baptism of our first nephew!  We were so excited to meet Ender and honored to be a part of his Baptism.

Welcome Ender Alan Otterman to the family of faith - and Eggebraaten!

The girls couldn't take their eyes off of him.  Cousins are so much fun.

Kane County Cougars

Cana and Adley enjoying the sunshine - and maybe even the game. We arrived to find lots of Adley classmates and their families.  This game was the reward for completing the Ozzie Reading Club Adley finished in February.  It also included a Cougars T-shirt and hot dog lunch.

Simeon was a bit confused by all of this but he was very patient and seemed to enjoy himself, especially when it warmed up.

The Kane County Cougars T-shirt tradition to sign all of your friends shirts and collect as many signatures as you can.

Cana had a shirt too and even found some signatures, although she was a bit shy about asking.

Simeon found lots of fun things to do at the game.

 Cana, Hope and Adley

Game Over, Cougars beat the Chiefs 7 to 6.
Due to the win, all the kids were invited to run the bases.  We walked out to center field and then back through to home plate for the run.  We had to instruct the girls how to step on each base.

 Adley got the first three...

Cana was more careful and stomped on home plate with both feet.

Narnia - and other stories

Everybody reading.

Adley and Daddy are reading the Chronicles of Narnia a couple of nights a week.

Simeon wandered off to find something else to read.

Cana asked to be read "No Babysitters Allowed."

One of our favorite sets of pajamas sized 18 mos.
We called this the luge uniform when Adley wore it and the name stuck.

Kindergarten Superstar

April 19, 2013
Kindergarten Superstar

She brought to school:
a posterboard filled with pictures
her favorite picture book - Let's Go For A Drive by Mo Willems (a new one)
a hidden "Show & Share" item - her favorite and first baby doll: Baby Lyla

The front of her poster with photos organized into four categories: "Baby Adley", "Our Family," "Flower Girl", "Birthday Girl."
And then she had to include the watermelon picture in the top left corner.  August 2010, Uncle Louie brought a 37 lb watermelon that she sat on like a horse.  As a bonus, the watermelon tasted great too!
After all the photos were grouped and glued we added labels and then Adley did the decorating, adding a church cutout for going to church, a teacup sticker for tea parties and a dancing silhouette to highlight some of her favorite activities.

The back of the poster decorated with a five-point star that Adley learned to draw that day.  She was so excited she stars everything now.  And the text above the face?  It reads, "Happy Superstar Day!"
