We sent the following email out on April 20. It had been a long night.
Members of Zion from Michelle:
Pastor and I ask that you keep Cana Grace in your prayers today and through the weekend. Cana was admitted to Provena St. Joseph last night on the advice of our pediatrician after choking on an almond. A piece aspirated into her lung and was removed very early this morning. Cana is on IV antibiotics and may need to stay in the hospital until the threat of pneumonia has passed. Pastor has been with her through the night at St. Joe's and he will stay with her until we can switch places.
Last night was a long night of prayer but we are confident that Cana's health is in God's hands and she is receiving excellent care. Prayers for successful removal of the particles in her lung have been answered.
In Christian love,
Michelle Eggebraaten and family
April 20 5pm - approximately 14 hours after the procedure.
Watching movies that night with Mommy.
Breakfast the next morning - or 24 hours post procedure.
That afternoon. April 21 discharged at lunch time.
By this point Cana was bouncing off the walls and asking to go home every 5 minutes. Then the nurses brought her this dress-up kit with tiara, wand, bracelets, earrings, necklace, oh, and check out the shoes. She strutted up and down the hospital hallway (luckily most of the rooms were empty) and she even had her discharge visit with the doctor in this getup. Then, we she was cleared to go home and it was time to put on her street clothes she REFUSED. What a turnaround.
Thanks be to God for taking care of our little girl.
We were so thankful to be able to go home and have all of our children in the same place.
