Waiting for the train in the refurbished station.
The Illinois Railway Museum in Union, IL has been our must-do with the kids list for quite awhile. It is the largest train museum in the country and just about an hour drive for us. We went on a Monday and there were very few people there. We had beautiful sunny weather and got our exercise walking through the various buildings. It was a fun way to spend a family day before school started.
Thomas and Chuggington train tables to play with on a sunny day.
We rode this street car which was in service from the 1920's until the 1940's.
We found a patch of this train to add to Simeon's backpack.
