Sorry for the blog drought. Here's a sample of our March. Adley talks constantly...unless you put her on the phone! She also loves to dress up. She is constantly adding a hat or her "party shoes" to complete an outfit.

Daddy's day off - making chocolate chip cookies...

...and enjoying every minute.

Yet another hat.

Daddy the photographer.

This is an in-progress shot of making bird feeders. I love reading what other mothers come up with to do with their toddlers and put on their blogs. After reading about pipe-cleaner bird feeders I was inspired. You take any old pipe cleaner and some cheerios and your busy-body toddler will spend hours upon blissful hours threading all the cheerios onto the all your pipe cleaners. Its a guaranteed win-win. Your toddler is busy, there's no clean-up and you can feed the birds all at the same time, right?
Wrong. Adley threads a cheerio onto the pipe cleaner. (She's perfectly capable). Then, she becomes voraciously hungry and she stuffs and entire handful of cheerios into her own mouth. This is followed by another handful that leads to several cheerios on the floor. Mommy proceeds to repeat the directions and explain that these are for the birds. In the process, I step on most of the cheerios Adley has just dropped. Next, Adley threads about half a dozen cheerios onto her pipe cleaner while watching Mommy do the same. This triggers her appetite and she consumes most of what is left in the bowl. (Most...the rest land on the floor and roll under the couch). So now that most of the cheerios are consumed or on the pipe cleaners, I, Mommy believe it is safe to put away dishes or answer the phone. When I look back Adley is sliding the last of the cheerios on the pipe cleaner into her mouth!
This entire exercise has taken us approximately 6 minutes. No dishes are put away and there are enough cheerios ground into the carpet to tint the color of the floor. I guess we'll keep looking for inspiration. Sorry birdies.
The funny thing is Adley has asked to do this activity again - twice. Do we not feed her enough?

Adley enjoying her favorite library activity. Shaking the pom-poms at Toddler Story Time. The staff at our library was brillant for coming up with this idea. We go every week if we can!

They just installed an animatronics Tyrannosaurus Rex in our mall as an advertisement for the zoo. Adley has a love hate relationship with this motion-sensored giant.
We've been to visit him 3 times.
