Preschool Achievement Night

Three-year-old Preschool Achievement Night

All of the three year old classes filed in and sang together.  Then, each of the classes had a song to sing individually.  Adley's class of 3 was represented by only 2 - Danny and Adley.  They sange a duet of "My God is so Great."  For just two little voices they sounded great and no stage fright either!

Mommy and Cana Time

Last Friday, Cana and Mommy had a great time at the Children's Museum.  We went to play while Adley was in preschool.  Things are just different when there's only two of us. 

Cana was busy busy busy.  She enjoyed the water table.  In the Wind section and the Things That Move section she primarily went around find all the ping pong balls, wooden balls, pom poms and collected them.  She was less interested in playing with the objects and more into hoarding. In the drum room she collected mallets but didn't plan to do any drumming.  Upstairs she rode on the teeter totter and then pushed all the buttons in imagination area set up as a space station.  She also enjoyed driving the car.  And all this in a little over an hour.

What a fun morning.

Peter Pan - May 4, 2011

Adley and classmate Danny on their field trip to see Peter Pan. This was a production by Alphabet Soup at a local university.  Several classes from the preschool, teachers and parents attended.  (We took up about half of the theater).  It was a fun morning and the show was well done.  We're looking forward to more Alphabet Soup in our future.  The actors were available for photos after the show but our two theater-goers were a bit timid.  Adley got over it by the time we got back to the car as she announced "I want to go there again!"

Baby Lyla's Birthday

Adley woke up this morning and announced that today was Baby Lyla's birthday.  This was, of course, news to me so I hadn't really planned anything or purchased any gifts.  Adley was undeterred and by evening we had a special, dinner, dessert and wrapped presents.  We donned birthday hats and, of course, sang Happy Birthday! 

Gardening 2011

We started gardening today (5/9).  We're trying a new approach this year - the Square Foot Gardening Method. First, Jared built the box at home.  Then we loaded up all our supplies and headed to the garden plot.  With the box in place we were ready to fill it.
